Mike VanDervort did an amazing job with all the submissions for the HR Carnival of Global Giving. About 85 submissions and almost $2000 raised for a really cool charity that helps to place “hard to place” adoptive kids. I am thankful everyday for what I have, and where I came from, and that there are parents out there who are willing to raise kids who aren’t perfect, or new born, or want to stay with their siblings.
Go here to get all the details – and read the two posts below. One from me on Volunteering and a guest post from @HRStalker, Ruth Estwick on BEing the Change.
After you’ve read the post… contribute a couple of dollars over on Mike’s page. Help us get to that $2000 mark.
I’ve put my $100 in the pot. So my money is where my mouth is.
Today we throw out the idea that “somebody else will do it”. As Ruth says, Be the Change. That somebody is you!

Hi, thanks so much for these tips! My blogs usually do bring readers and responses. One thing I do is engage with the readers. Answer questions in responses and make clarifications where needed. I think they appreciate that I take the time to talk to them.
The Charity is Children Awaiting Parents, Inc. They work to place the “hard to adopt” kids with families.
And I’m no recruiter, Jill. Used to be, but I’ve been a full on “evil HR professional” for most of my career!
Thanks for contributing.
Tammy
What is the name of the charity Mike helped raise $2K for? It sounds great. I did go to his blog and post a dollar. (Cool micropayment service, by the way. I learn something every day from you recruiters.)
I agree Tammy, It was an amazing thing Mike Vandervort did with HR. Carnival.
I too have much to be thankful for as well.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
Shennee”:)
Tammy, thanks for all your support for the HR Carnival of Giving. You did more than put your money where your mouth is, you helped make a difference, and for that, You Rock!
